First Day of School

It was like Christmas morning at our house today. Mr. T woke up before the crack of dawn ready to start his "first day of school." We had our traditional first day of school breakfast which consists of a completely unhealthy dose of waffle/ice cream sandwiches. (This was a breakfast we had on my last day of seminary each year - and I looked forward to it immensely. I chose to have it on the FIRST day of school for our family, so that we can look forward to the beginning, and not just the end!) Miss J was mostly nervous and literally dragged her feet into the school - so much so that the principal came up and gave her a welcoming hug that helped. Also having a new friend that saved her a seat in class was extremely helpful. I can't wait to hear how her day has gone.

My third grader.

My overly-excited first grader!

How the youngest feels about all of this:

I hope everyone's first day went well!! It is nice to get back to the normal routine of school after a full summer. I'm still on summer vacation for 2 more weeks--but I would love to catch up with you when we also start school!

Your kids are so darling! I love that they humor you with the pictures and all. I hope Miss J's first day was splendid. I LOVE the waffles and ice cream idea. You are brilliant!

Oh, the many faces of back to school! I hope it was good for all of them. What a good idea to have a feast and a theme and a special breakfast. Now I am sad I have to wait a whole other year to start! Can you post about it again next year to remind me:)

PS- I saw a really cute magnet board perfect for creating that FHE chart you wanted so long ago- did you ever get anything to fill that need?

Balancing & Blogging

I've come to the conclusion that balance in life is only attained when one limits the extent and experiences of ones life. Maybe not.  P...
