Sunday, June 15 BRIEF FATHER'S DAY RECAP

Today we harassed Dad for Father's Day, sang to him, jumped on him, and took pictures with him while loving on him and giving him cards and gifts!

Most importantly, we made him do what he loves: eat his favourite foods and hang out at the beach!  We tried out a new beach today that had great snorkeling (one of Dad's favourite pass times).  It was a bit chilly, but the overcast skies were pretty nice for our sun-kissed skin.

He was delighted to find a monk seal sun-bathing and truly SNORING on the beach!  Such a sweet little moss-covered face.

The kids, who have taken to chasing chickens, found a chicken and her eggs in a tree. Have we mentioned there are chickens EVERYWHERE here!

We also saw a turtle shell on the beach (no pics that I can find though).

The trees provided a natural playground for the kids while the adults managed a long walk on the beach.

Big holes were dug, and coals were mixed in coconuts to make a special potion to use with drawing moustaches and tattoos.

Fish tacos for lunch.

It was a bit of a drive, but we broke it up by stopping at the lookouts and different dry and wet caves.

After a brief quiet time in the afternoon, we headed out for a Music in the Park afternoon at a local park. The music was tolerable, but the shade and park (that consisted of a workout circuit) kept us quite entertained. Next we took a walk in a neighborhood, so that we could scope out our new house!  Just kidding, but we had fun dreaming.

While many families will make dinner for Dad on Father's Day, "our Dad" loves to cook and be in the kitchen, so he was a big part of making our delicious feast.  Overall it was a delightful Father's Day.

Some of the "lookouts" on our drive to the beach, Kauai is beautiful:
